College Course Returns to Union Hall

Los Angeles Trade–Technical College courses at Teamsters Local 1932 Union Hall are back!

Earn college credit toward a Labor Studies Degree or Certificate with this course on Collective Bargaining, a comprehensive, three-unit course that explores all facets of the collective bargaining process. From preparation, costing-out and mobilizing members to bargaining and settlement techniques, LS 2 covers all the elements necessary to win a good union contract. This class is specially designed to explain the relationship between the “table” and the “field” to union officers, staff, stewards, and activists.

TOPICS INCLUDE: 

? Campaign strategies for tough economic times

? Managing group dynamics

? Building power by involving members

? Nuts and bolts: member surveys, costing out, research, and mobilizing members

? Mediation and strikes

Classes start August 31st and are every Thursday 6 to 9:10 PM until final class on December 14th.
