Teamsters at Bear Valley Community Hospital Ratify New 3-Year Contract

San Bernardino, CA- Teamsters Local 1932 members at Bear Valley Community Hospital have overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year contract that delivers meaningful improvements in wages, paid sick leave, and recognizes Martin Luther King Jr. Day as an official holiday for the first time.

The agreement is a major win for the dedicated healthcare professionals who have remained steadfast in their commitment to the community’s well-being throughout the challenges of recent years.

“Our members at Bear Valley stood strong, organized, and made it clear that they deserve dignity, respect, and fair compensation,” said Randy Korgan, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 1932. “This contract reflects that power. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when workers come together and demand better.”

Highlights of the agreement include:

  • Wage increases over the life of the contract
  • Expanded paid sick leave to support worker health and well-being
  • Recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a paid holiday, honoring a legacy of justice and equity

For Valery Madrigal, a respiratory technician and member of the bargaining team, this victory is deeply personal. “Healthcare workers often give everything to care for others—now we’ve finally won a contract that cares for us,” said Madrigal. “Securing MLK Day is symbolic of our ongoing fight for justice, and improving our sick leave and wages makes a real difference for our families.”
