Hispanic Caucus Reached Signatures Required To Rename Seccombe Park

San Bernardino, CA — Teamsters Local 1932 is proud to announce that our Hispanic Caucus has officially gathered the required number of signatures to advance the community-driven initiative to rename Seccombe Lake Park in honor of civil rights pioneer Ignacio Lopez.

This milestone is the result of months of grassroots organizing and community engagement aimed at uplifting the legacy of Lopez, who fought tirelessly against discrimination in the Inland Empire. His contributions to racial justice and the labor movement continue to inspire generations today.

“This is a historic step forward,” said Carlos Gonzales, President of the  Teamsters Local 1932 Hispanic Caucus. “We are committed to lifting up the stories of local heroes like Ignacio Lopez, whose contributions have been overlooked for far too long.”

With this milestone reached, the next phase will involve public discussion. Teamsters Local 1932 will soon invite community members, partners, and supporters to attend an upcoming public meeting to voice their support and help ensure this name change reflects the will and values of the San Bernardino community.

Additional details about the meeting will be shared soon. For updates and ways to get involved, follow Teamsters Local 1932 Hispanic Caucus on social media or visit www.teamsters1932.org.
