HESPERIA CTE TEACHERS JOIN TEAMSTERS LOCAL 1932
HESPERIA, Calif. — Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers in Hesperia have overwhelmingly joined Teamsters Local 1932, officially forming a new bargaining unit to strengthen their collective voice on the job. The effort reflects the educators’ determination to secure fair working conditions, protect educational standards, and ensure long-term stability for both teachers and students in the district.
“These dedicated teachers provide hands-on skills and career pathways that change students’ lives. Their decision to unite under Teamsters Local 1932 means their voices will be stronger than ever,” said Randy Korgan, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 1932. “We’re proud to stand with them as they begin this next chapter and will help guide them every step of the way.”
CTE teachers play a crucial role in preparing high school students across the Hesperia Unified School District for careers in fields such as healthcare, technology, construction, and public service. By joining Local 1932, members will now have the ability to negotiate improvements to wages, benefits, and workplace protections through a legally recognized collective bargaining agreement.
“CTE teachers are just as valuable as general education teachers — our experience is every bit as important as academic degrees. This milestone means we finally have equal recognition and protection. The Teamsters picked up the ball and quickly ran to support us.” — Nickoli Boruff, 20+ years at Hesperia Unified School District.
Teamsters Local 1932 represents more than 16,000 working people across the Inland Empire and has a strong track record of improving workplace standards for public and private sector workers. The addition of Hesperia’s CTE teachers further strengthens the union’s mission to raise standards for workers and communities across the region.
