CTE Teachers Secure 1st Teamster Contract
Hesperia, CA- Career Technical Education (CTE) Teachers represented by Teamsters Local 1932 have unanimously ratified their first collective bargaining agreement with the Hesperia Unified School District, marking a historic milestone for educators who have long fought for a voice on the job.
The agreement establishes important workplace protections and recognition for the highly skilled educators who provide students with hands-on training and industry-specific instruction that prepares them to enter the workforce, earn certifications, and pursue careers in high-demand fields throughout the region.
“This first contract demonstrates what is possible when workers stand together and demand a seat at the table,” said Randy Korgan, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 1932. “These educators are shaping the future workforce of the Inland Empire and the High Desert, and they deserve the respect, protections, and representation that come with a strong union contract. We are proud of the determination shown by these teachers throughout this process.”
The agreement comes after CTE teachers organized with Teamsters Local 1932 to secure representation and advocate for a stronger voice regarding the issues impacting their profession and students.
“This journey has been about ensuring that CTE teachers have a voice, meaningful representation, and the support they needed to continue providing high-quality opportunities for our students.” said Nickoli Boruff.
Teamsters Local 1932 represents more than 16,000 workers across the Inland Empire.
